Details

Artsplosure has showcased North Carolina's flora and fauna by bringing wildflowers to the streets of Raleigh! In partnership with artist Kat Lanser, botanist Greg Wilson, and Live It Up! Hillsborough Street, they have adorned power boxes along Hillsborough Street with artistic wildflower micro murals.

Power Box 5 of 5 is located at Hillsborough St. & Oberlin Rd. It is an illustration of the Common Milkweed which is just one of many types of milkweed in North America.

Milkweed provides critical nourishment for Monarch caterpillars by making them toxic to predators. The decline of Milkweed due to human development is one of the major reasons for the overall decline of Monarch Butterflies.
