Jane Harrison

Raleigh City Council, District D

Jane Harrison was elected to represent District D on the Raleigh City Council in 2022. She currently serves as Chair of the Growth & Natural Resources Committee and is a member of the Transportation & Transit Committee. A coastal economics specialist with North Carolina Sea Grant, she works with an organization based at NC State University that focuses on ocean, coastal, and watershed resource management. Additionally, she serves on the faculty at NC State University in the College of Natural Resources and the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics.

Council Member Harrison holds a B.A. in international studies and an M.S. in environmental economics, both from The Ohio State University. She earned her Ph.D. in natural resource management from Oregon State University.

Her personal interests include rock climbing and reading.
