"Welcome to Hillsborough Street" Mural

This signature mural welcomes visitors to Hillsborough Street and features artistic renderings of key Raleigh icons, as well as a life-size version of Tuffy. The artwork was made possible by an Impact Partner Grant through the City of Raleigh, as well as partnerships with York Properties, McLaurin Parking and the NC State Trademark Office.

Completed in November 2021 | Located at 2811 Hillsborough Street
This refurbishment project added appropriate landscaping and instructional art elements to the stormwater rain garden and a mural on the concrete surround. Both the landscaping and the artwork represent primarily native plants and pollinators to create a well-functioning rain garden system. The project was made possible by an Impact Partner Grant through the City of Raleigh, as well as partnerships with Anne Spafford & the NC State Horticulture Program, City of Raleigh Arts, City of Raleigh Stormwater, City of Raleigh Right of Way and the NC Extension Office.
