Tasty Tuesday: Freshberry/Smallcakes

Tasty Tuesday is back and it’s perfect just in time for Valentine’s Day! This week, I took a trip to Freshberry/Smallcakes.

When it comes to good, fresh frozen yogurt, Freshberry quickly comes to mind. Located a couple steps from Target and right across from campus, this place is the perfect stop for a quick treat. With eight self-serve options and a large array of toppings, like M&Ms, coconut shavings, berries, kiwi and sprinkles, Freshberry has become a student favorite on Hillsborough Street.

Not only does Freshberry/Smallcakes offer frozen yogurt, they have smoothies, cupcakes, bubble tea and even sandwiches & salads, making this a one-stop shop. This trip, I decided to go for a cupcake, and I don’t regret it. They had a variety on display and I had a hard time deciding which one to try. They have your standard vanilla and chocolate, plus fun flavors such as Birthday Cake, Red Velvet, Decadent Fudge, Cookies & Creme and Lemon Drop.

I settled on Red Velvet and I absolutely loved it. The cake was nice and moist, and the cream cheese icing on top had just the right amount of sweetness. Just take a look at it, it’s mouth-watering!  

Stop by this Valentine’s Day for a sweet treat, whether you want to try their frozen yogurt or a cupcake. I promise you won’t be disappointed. They are located at 2526 Hillsborough St., Ste 104 and they’re open Monday thru Thursday - 10:00am to 11:00pm, Friday & Saturday - 11:00am to 10:30pm and Sunday - 12:00 noon to 9:30pm.
